  1. My general dentist referred me to Penn Dental Family Practice at Locust Walk. When I arrived, I was sent from the 11th floor to the 4th, then to the 10th – no one seemed to know where I was supposed to go.

Eventually, I was redirected to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine because I was told they could see emergency cases. But at the front desk, the staff member made a personal phone call to a colleague – not to keep me informed, but to quietly confirm whether I could be seen. He used his personal phone so the call wouldn’t be recorded. At first, the answer seemed to be yes, but he kept asking “Are you sure?”, “Really?” until the response on the other end suddenly changed to “Oh right, actually we can only see them in a month.”

All of this while I’ve been in serious pain from a wisdom tooth – unable to sleep or eat properly. Being told to wait 30 days with just painkillers didn’t feel like real care. For such a respected institution, the lack of coordination and compassion was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

  2. Incredibly rude front desk lady super condescending blonde woman at the front who is lazy and said she would call me once she got my paperwork and of course never did! I called to check in days later myself. She was very arrogant and refused to take me because of a technicality issue with paperwork that they never informed me I needed. I was the one being disadvantaged by taking my day off from work and now not being able to get my procedure done because of a lack of information on their end. She was so upset that I didn't have the right information even though I brought everything they told me to as far as I knew and they neglected to inform me of details they know about as medical staff. This lady should definitely be retrained or look for new work outside of human contact.

  3. Raeann Jones dice:

I had THE BEST experience with upenn school of dental. The student that was assigned to me was there with me through the process of getting my dentures. There were teachers there also but the students do all the work I LOVE my new dentures thank you upenn school of dental

  4. Marquia from the scheduling line was very professional and made sure to answer all of the questions I had prior to my appointment as well as making appointment scheduling fast and easy!

  5. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Unfortunately, that’s not an option. This is by far the worst place I’ve ever dealt with. My treatment was scheduled for an entire year, but they kept pushing it off repeatedly, and it never even started before my insurance ended. Completely unproductive and lacking any support system. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!!
